Implement the Alexa.DeviceUsage interfaces in your Alexa skill to report energy usage of devices that consume energy. For more details, see Understand Smart Home Energy Skills.
Alexa interfaces for device usage
To report energy usage, implement the smart home APIs in the Alexa.DeviceUsage namespace.
Note: There is no API called Alexa.DeviceUsage.
- Alexa.DeviceUsage.Estimation — Users can view an estimate of their energy use for devices that don't measure energy use directly, such as thermostats.
- Alexa.DeviceUsage.Meter — Users can view their energy use for devices that measure energy use directly, such as electric and natural gas meters.
