GameCircle Announcement
Important: GameCircle is on a deprecation path. If you rely on GameCircle features, then we recommended you migrate out of GameCircle. The following are important milestones:
After October 15, 2020, new Appstore customers on Fire Tablets and Fire TV will have a fixed GameCircle profile name called “Guest.” In-game achievements and progress will be available only on the device where they play the game. This will not impact existing customers on Fire Tablets or Fire TV. Also, Fire Tablet customers will no longer be able to use the soft-key bar to launch the GameCircle modal dialog.
After February 2, 2021, new and existing customers will have a fixed GameCircle profile called “Guest.” The GameCircle Leaderboards will be blank, and customer in-game achievements and progress will be available only on the device where they play the game. Furthermore, game developers will no longer be able to access GameCircle information on the Developer Portal.
After May 15, 2022, GameCircle applications released in 2022 and later will not be available on Fire tablet devices. New and existing customers will not be able to view the leaderboards, game profiles, customer in-game achievements, and progress on Fire tablet devices (released in 2022 and later). Game developers will need to remove any GameCircle integration and resubmit apps on the Amazon Developer Portal to prevent any issues due to GameCircle’s deprecation. Apps with the GameCircle integration will be blocked from the Amazon Appstore on new devices (2022+) starting May 15, 2022.
Effective October 15, 2022, customers will no longer have access to the GameCircle application on Fire TV and Fire tablet devices. This includes all associated leaderboards, profiles, in-game achievements, and game progress. Developers, remove any GameCircle integrations and resubmit your apps on the Amazon Developer Portal to prevent issues because of GameCircle’s deprecation.
