Add Rich Media to the Skill Detail Page
Your skill detail page educates customers about the value of your skill and shows them how the skill works. The use of rich media assets on your skill detail page can improve customer engagement. Rich media includes images, video, and the featured (still) image customers see before your video plays. You add rich media when you define skill details on the Distribute tab in the Alexa developer console. For more details, see Define Skill Store Details for Publication.
You can also use the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) Command Line Interface (CLI) to upload your rich media assets. For more details, see Add Rich Media to Your Skill Detail Page.
Use rich media assets
The figures in this section show how rich media looks on finished skill detail pages. The first figure shows a skill detail page viewed on a mobile device. The second shows a skill detail page displayed in the Alexa Skills Store.
Placement
Rich media assets are displayed across Amazon Alexa skill detail pages in the following locations.
- Skill detail page in the Alexa Skills Store on the Amazon retail website
- Alexa app
- Other Amazon properties
Limits
You can upload one video and up to five images, not including the featured image for your video. The use of rich media is optional. You're not required to add images or video to your skill for distribution. If you choose not to use rich media, your skill’s logo continues to be the primary image that represents your skill.
Locales
You can designate specific media assets for each locale in which your skill is distributed. When you use locale-specific assets, videos are spoken in the language the customer expects, and written captions, signs, and other language appears in the customer's language. The asset limits for each locale are the same as for the primary locale, that is, one video and up to five images. Your locale-specific assets must also pass certification.

Before you begin, upload a skill icon on the Skill Preview page.
